LATEST UPDATE: January 29th, 2026

by Aaron

2026 is a big year. Not just for Pokémon as a brand, but for this archive as well.

As of January 29, 2026, this website has new hosting and moderation. We expect to drastically improve site functionality in the coming months.

Due to these changes, certain site functionality may be temporarily limited during this time while the website is overhauled.

Additionally, Aaron (AKA Phones) has been officially brought onto this project as the newest member of the moderation team due to an increased number of cybersecurity attacks.

Rest assured, Julie will still be maintaining this project as head archivist.

Enjoy Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary, Trainers!

“The Pokémon Center, in New York’s Rockefeller Center, is a one-of-the-kind, interactive retail destination. For kids, and kids at heart, the multi-level Pokémon Center creates a wondrous environment that transports visitors into a Pokémon fantasy for all who enter. Based on the worldwide phenomenon, the Center features both new and exclusive merchandise as well as entertaining attractions.”

This fan-made website is dedicated to the Pokémon Center in New York City that served in Rockefeller Plaza from 2001-2005. This is an ongoing project, and information and images/video will be added as it surfaces. So please check often, browse, and enjoy the nostalgia!

*ATTENTION TRAINERS*

To celebrate Pokémon’s 25th anniversary back in 2021, Julie compiled a playlist of all music played via rotating CDs throughout the store from November 16th, 2001 through January 19th, 2005. For a fully-immersive Pokémon Center NY experience, click the image below to open this YouTube playlist in a separate tab.

Additionally, Julie has also uploaded 30 minutes of uninterrupted footage of the Gen II version of the Pokémon Center NY “Gotta Catch ’em All!” Station that was located on the second floor of the store. For full immersion, please consider listening to her playlist in one tab, with the video open in another tab! Enjoy!
